Almost 4 Months!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to check in really quick to share some pictures of my growing cuteness. That's right, folks, I'm one handsome devil. :) It's been a fun month. I met my Uncle Dave. He's cool. Been to see my buddy Robert (and the rest of his fam) up in Minnesota. That was quite the long roadtrip, but I came out of it ok, although Mommy and Daddy seemed really pooped when we got home. I've also been to a few pumpkin patches....don't really see what the big deal is about those, but maybe they'll be more fun next year when I can walk. Other than that, I've just been chilling here at home with the fam, learning new things every day! I've recently discovered that I have feet!! They're fun to grab. I also really enjoy playing in my jump-a-roo, talking, and laughing! That's my new trick - I especially like to giggle at my Dad and my sister. They're pretty goofy. Enjoy the pics and the video at the end.

Talk to ya.

Me and The Sister

Tummy Time is much more tolerable now that I'm bigger. :)

Ready for a Chiefs game! (turns out they lost. boo.)

That's right. I'm so cute, it IS scary.

Meeting my Uncle David for the first time. He's cool.

I have a pretty cool big sis, I guess. One night when Mommy was cooking, I was pretty sad and lonely in my swing. Emily brought her chair into the red room to hang out with me, all on her own. That was pretty cool of her. Made me stop crying!

Here I am hanging at my buddy Robert's house, in MN.

Dude. I do not find these Pumpkin Patch places enjoyable. What's the big deal anyway?? I'm still in this darn carseat!

Life. Whatcha gonna do??

Me and Robert. I'd sit up, if I, um, could.

Whoa. What was that? (Go Jayhawks, by the way.)

As promised in my earlier post, a picture of me in my hospital bed. So sad. But I'm all better, so it's ok. :)

And, finally, here's a fun video of my Dad and me. Daddy's making me giggle. He's so goofy. Enjoy!

Whew! What an Adventure!

Hello, my buddies,

So. I've had quite the exciting week. Let me tell you about it.

Last Wednesday, I felt pretty crappy. I cried off and on all morning, and Mom kept sticking the darn thermometer in some pretty private parts to take my temperature. Such a drag. Eventually, it got high enough (101.8) where she and my Dad had to take action. It was storming pretty bad, but Grandma Jo came over to stay with Emily so Mom and Dad could take me to the doctor, at Children's Mercy South Urgent Care. Lucky for us, there wasn't another soul there, so we got right in to see the doctor. They took my temperature AGAIN (102 this time), listened to my breathing, and checked me out all over. Turns out, they said I had an ear infection and a bad cold, which I probably caught from my Mommy. And man, my ear hurt bad. But we got to go home, as long as Mommy agreed to take me to my regular doctor the next day.

Mommy and I headed out the next afternoon, on my 12th week birthday, to see our favorite Dr. Mellick. When we got there, I still didn't feel good. In fact, I was really starting to feel sick, AND I had just thrown up. :( This worried Dr. Mellick, and she didn't like my coloring, or my lack of wet diapers, so she told Mommy that she wanted to error on the side of caution and admit me to the hospital, where I could be monitored over night. So, back to the hospital we went, this time to check-in. When we got there, the took my temperature AGAIN (Really people?? Do you LIKE sticking that thing up my butt??? Seriously....) and I got checked out, and the doctor there agreed with Dr. Mellick, and they decided to run lots of tests on me. Mommy didn't come with me for the tests, (the nurses told her Mommies usually stay behind) but I told her I was very brave and it didn't hurt hardly at all. After the tests, Mommy dressed me in a funny looking dress and I got settled in on my new bed.

Mom and Dad stayed with me overnight, and nurses kept coming in to check on me, but I started improving right away. (Psssttt....I was really fine the whole time...just thought it would be fun to give everyone a scare so I could get some alone time with my parents without my sister around. It's ROUGH being the second kid, yo!) In fact, the tests all came back negative, and it turns out the very first doctor I saw was right - just an ear infection and a bad cold. I got to go home 26 hours after we checked in, after I was given two doses of a powerful antibiotic. But, I got what I wanted - extra time with the 'rents. My plan worked perfectly. :) And, my Mom did take some pictures of me lying in my hospital bed in my gown. But, the pictures are on her phone, and she has some learning to do before she can post them. But in the meantime, here are some more happy pictures for you! Enjoy! And, thank you for praying for me everyone. I DID feel pretty yucky. Colds and ear infections, and high fevers, are NO fun.

Here I am the morning between Urgent Care and getting admitted to the hospital. I DO look sick, don't I? Poor me.

And here I am with Gran and The Sister, celebrating Gran's birthday, which was Friday, which was the day I was in the hospital. Whoops, sorry about that Gran. Next time I'll plan better. :)

Happy Birthday!!

Chilling with Grandpa Steve.

Cute pic of me the week before all the sickness chaos. (11 weeks)

Playing in the Jumparoo @ 12 weeks. I'm definitely feeling better!

Yes, those ARE my feet touching the floor, thanks for noticing! Oh, and here is a video of me jumping! Enjoy!

9 and 10 Week Pictures

Hi Everyone!

Just a few pictures to share from the past few weeks. I am now a Kindermusik pro, having started classes at 8 weeks and 5 days. Pretty ridiculous, huh? That's my Mom for you. ;) I slept most of my first class, in addition to some fussing, but I'm starting to get the hang of it - I stayed awake for my entire second class! Whoa!

Coming up next in the exciting life of Connor - my first "Take the Sister to School and Hang with Mommy Day." Looking forward to that! And my first LaBarge Cup is next week! I get to stay with Mom and Dad to experience that, but my sister doesn't. Haha, Sis! ;) Let's see...what else....nothing else very exciting going on here, other than my Mom anxiously awaiting my 3 month birthday so she can take me to the daycare at her gym, so she can start working out. I guess last week two people asked her if and when she was having a baby, which is NOT cool when your baby is nine weeks old. She is ready to become one fit Mommy! :)

Talk to ya.

Thinking About Being a Linebacker

Hi people.
Went to the doctor today for the whole two month check-up thing. In addition to the Tylenol, four shots, and an oral dose of a 5th immunization, they checked my stats. Dudes. I'm already such a big guy. Ok, to refresh your memory, I was 7 lbs 15 oz and 21 inches long when I was born. At one month I was 11 pounds 5.3 oz and 22.63 inches long. Today, at two months and one day, I am 13 lbs 8.6 oz and 24.25 inches long. That places me in the 82nd percentile for weight and 85th percentile for height. "Oh boy," is all my mom has to say. :) So, since I was born, I have put on roughly 5 1/2 pounds and grown 3 1/4 inches. Whew! Thanks for the milk, Mom! ;) (And, hey sister, looks like at FOUR MONTHS you were just 13 lbs 8.9 oz. Shrimp. I got you by two months. Haha!!)

Here's a picture of me on my two month birthday. And, just for fun, I'll repost the two other pics on the same baseball, for your convenience, so you can track my growth. Isn't that nice of me?

Talk to ya.

8 Weeks...Where does the time go??

Hi buddies.

Guess what. I am OLD. I am, as of today, 59. Yup, 59 days old. That is OLD, people. And because of my old age, there are some things coming up in my life that sound pretty interesting. For example, this coming Tuesday is my first day of Kindermusik. Yup, that's right, Mommy is taking me to Kindermusik at 8 weeks old. Don't judge her, I'm excited to spend time with her - just the two of us! :) And, on Wednesday, I have to go to the doctor for my two month visit, and I hear there will be some pain involved (4 shots), but I plan on being very brave, in addition to having my Mommy drug me up. :) Let's see....additionally, this past week, I visited the Deanna Rose Farmstead for the first time, started talking a lot more often, met my Uncle Francis, Cousin Randy, and Great-Aunt Alma and Great-Uncle Ralph, AND I've also graduated out of the recipe of bouncy seat+swaddle+noise machine+vibrator in order to go to sleep. Lately, Mommy just swaddles me loosely, and that's all I need to sleep about 4 hours or so at a time. (I have done a few five hour stretches this week, too, which makes Mommy very happy!) Enjoy the pictures!!

Talk to ya.
Connor

Happy Birthday Uncle Francis!

7 1/2 weeks - Wearing an outfit from Aunt Alma. I wore it for an hour before it, uh, required a washing. :)

Fed & happy. (and my Mom apparently doesn't know how to properly snap my pants.)

8 weeks 3 days. Growing like a weed!! :)

6 Weeks! (plus 2 days)

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to check in real quick & share some pics now that I'm 6 weeks old and all. Don't have too much to share, other than Mom weighed me today and the scale said I was 12 1/2 pounds!! Mom's not sure that's quite accurate, but man, if it is, I've grown another pound in a week and a half! WHOA people! Also, Mom finally put the double stroller together, so now we don't have to sit in this house ALLLLLL day long, staying out of the heat. Now we can hang out at some indoor places and she can keep track of both of us kids at the same time! :) She's pretty thrilled about that. Enjoy the pics!

Been working on the whole smiling thing. :)

All spiffed up for Mommy's 6 week doctor visit. The nurses said I was handsome.
They have good taste. ;)

Me and my sister's new ride. Emily watched TV in it for an HOUR. She refused to get out.
What a weirdo...

Hmmm...this is an interesting new position. I kinda like it! (6 weeks 2 days)

More Pics from My First Month

Hello again Everyone!

It's a typical Sunday afternoon in my house (naps and Nascar) so I thought I'd take advantage of the quiet house to share more pictures from my first five weeks. Also, I went to the doctor with my sister this week. I was the only one who got shots - I got my second Hepatitis B shot, which wasn't too bad. I cried just briefly, because I'm such a brave guy. When they weighed me, we found out that I had put on almost 4 pounds (!!!) in my first month. (See, Mom?? That's why I need to eat so often!!) I weighed 11 pounds 5.3 ounces (remember? I was 7 lbs 15 oz when I was born) AND - get this people - I was 22.63 inches long! I was only 21 inches when I was born. So, yes, in just a month I grew over an inch and a half! Whoa!! I'm HUUUUGE! :)

Anyway, here are the fun pics to share...

This first one is from only my 10th day of life, which just happened to be the 4th of July! This was a very mellow day for my family - we did absolutely nothing, except wear 4th of July clothes. :) Which, sometimes, is apparently just how my parents like it. (check out my newborn wrinkles in this picture - awww...)

This next one is me and Daddy, and I'm about 3 weeks old (Mommy says she can't remember - sheesh, she's forgetful...) We're probably watching NASCAR in this picture. :)

Here I am on my one month birthday! (which happened to be my sister's 2nd birthday)

Here are a few others from my one month birthday (again, it was a bit overshadowed by the sister's big day, but you only turn 2 once, I suppose). This first one is of me and Grandpa, chilling at the birthday party.

Next is me and Daddy, again at the birthday party.

Finally, here's me and Grandma Jo, at again - guess where? - the birthday party. :)

And here I am at 5 weeks old. I'm a handsome little devil, huh?

And, just to show you how much I've grown, here's another picture of me on the same baseball, at 9 days old.

And, this last picture is another of me at one month - I'm starting to work on my smiles! They sure do make my parents happy! :)
