Oh, look, FALL!

Whoa People.

I was quick checking my blog to see when the last time I posted pictures was, and, uh, whoops, looks like the last ones I posted were all summer pics! Sorry about that, friends. Let's get to some, shall we??

Let's start with pictures from when I was 14 months. Can you believe, that was August 24 until September 23?? Already a crazy long time ago...

Reading! I'm finally starting to show an interest in books. :)

Love my shirt, do you? Yeah, so does my Dad.

Celebrating Gran's Birthday!!

Being silly with Daddy

I love him. See how we have the same eyes?

Wheeeee!!!

Love my trucks and my blocks!

Lookee what I can do....

TaDa!!

What? I thought I was helping??

15 month pictures:

Happy Birthday to Daddy!!

Visiting a farm in Charlotte. It was a beautiful day for a visit!

At the Pumpkin Patch. Hmmm....this pumpkin or this pumpkin....I can't decide!

We visited the Charlotte Nature Museum - LOVED playing in the water!!

I know. I'm big. Can you believe how fast it happened?

I have turned into quite a dog lover. My parents are in big trouble the minute I realize I can have one of these for real in my house. :)

Hanging at the Pumpkin Patch with Daddy!

16 Months: October 24-November 23

Playing on pillow mountains with The Sister.

Not sure what this toy is, but it was fun. Mommy seemed happy we were interested in it. ;)

Exploring yet another Pumpkin Patch!

Hahaha Daddy! Try to walk!

Lately I'm a BIG fan of driving. Ask Mommy. I waaaaay prefer to sit in the driver's seat rather than my carseat. All. the. time. I'm pretty vocal about it too. And by vocal I mean loud. And by loud I mean thrashing and screaming. Every. Single. Time. ;)

At our Playgroup's Halloween Party. Uh, nice face, sister...

When we got home, we found out Daddy had completed step #1 of our Kitchen Remodel, which was Operation Put Connor's Birthday Present Together. So, 4 months after my birthday, I got THIS! :) I love it!!

Costume #1 for Halloween. Here I am at my Kindermusik Halloween Party. Hard to tell in this picture, but this costume is waaaay small.

Had a great time though and got lots of good loot!

Costume #2, Halloween Night. Mommy abandoned the Lion Costume and had me where the one she had planned for Emily. Luckily it was warm enough and Emily was able to wear her Belle costume all night, leaving this one for me!

Happy Halloween to US!

Belle decided she was done with pictures, so I got a great pic with just my Mom and Dad. You know, I'm not sure there are many pictures that exist with just the three of us.

Trick-or-Treating in style! It was such a nice night, people were greeting us on their front porches with candy instead of staying inside. Our warm fall has been awesome!!

Hope you enjoyed the update! Happy Fall!!!

From the Mom

Hello Blog of Connor Readers, :)

Our little man is almost 15 months old. It's hard to believe. Not gonna try to sugarcoat it, but the first year of the whole toddler + infant thing can be rough. I look back at it now, thankful that we are through it and, at times, amazed that we all survived. I can't tell you the number of times I was a little freaked about being in charge of two very small people and praying I wouldn't forget someone somewhere, only to be hunted down by the police and hauled away sobbing, "But I'm just so tirrrrrrrrreeeeeddddddd!!" Ok, that's a bit dramatic, as it was never THAT bad, but, yes, at times it was challenging. :) I received two great bits of advice from friends who had already been there, done that, and both kept me going on those rough days: "Somedays, you just have to put your head down and get it (that first year) done," and "The days are long, but the years are short." The second is SO true, as here we are, approaching Connor's 15 month birthday!

Today also marks the anniversary of when Connor was admitted to Children's Mercy for a 24 hour stay. Last year, Connor spiked a 102+ fever, which is always taken seriously in babies younger than 3 months. Connor spiked this fever on his 12 week birthday, which was just days shy of his official 3 month birthday. After being diagnosed at Urgent Care with an ear infection, Connor then saw his pediatrician for a follow-up appointment where we reported he had vomited since beginning his antibiotics. That, along with his listful demeanor, pale coloring, and high fever from the day before, prompted our pediatrician to admit him for testing and observation, as she feared meningitis. The little guy was a trooper and endured much testing, including a spinal tap, but all testing came back negative. The little guy was just fighting a strong virus and managed to scare us all in the process. Unbelievable to me that that was a year ago.

Today, Connor is a riot. He has an extra-cheesy smile he loves to turn on, especially for the camera. He likes to dance and loves to run up to me when I'm sitting and push me over. He loves to wrestle, especially with his Dad and Sister. He seems to have grown so much during his 14th month, and now chit-chats in baby talk much of the day. This often translates into whining, and that makes me more motivated to get this boy signing! Currently, he will sign sleep, drink, please (this one has been over-generalized for "more"), and blanket. Blanket is a new one, learned just this week, and a good one for him, as he is turning into quite the "Blankie Boy." He loves carrying his blanket around the house, and definitely needs it to sleep, although so far he doesn't HAVE to have it at all times during the day. I hope we can keep it this way, as I know constantly remembering his blanket would not be this scatter-brained mama's forte! For most of the summer, he has chanted "Row row row..." when he wants you sing "Row Row Row Your Boat." He also enjoys "Open, Shut Them," as is evidenced in the video in the prior posting. He frustrates his mama when he throws food on the ground, which is what he will do if he has announced he's done (will clap his hands once and say, "DONE!") and I don't move fast enough. He'll also throw food on the ground he's not interested in eating, such as hot dogs, meatballs, hamburger, basically all meats except chicken nuggets, although tonight he ate taco meat, thank God.

This week, he is also BIG into repetition. He will play independently, providing he has a full tummy, ha!, for quite awhile, more than I remember his sister doing at this age, which is great. He will push his cars and trucks around the entryway as well as play with various different balls. Also, just this week, he's starting to sort/stack. I remember Emily spending a good amount of time lining toys up a certain way, and Connor started doing that this week as I watched him take book after book out to stack in a pile, or ball after ball to place in a line. Watching things like that are so interesting to me - I'm just dying to know what they're thinking about when they're doing that!

I also have said this summer that I think Connor's theme song should be "Living On the Edge." When we play outside, his favorite spot to play is the street. He's not interested in staying close to Mommy OR holding my hand. He has no fear when it comes to walking down the stairs face first (and promptly falling), jumping on Emily's bed, or walking off the edge of playground equipment (thankfully, he's only tempted fate with this one, so far). He LOVES animals, and will walk straight up to dogs and is really getting pretty good at soft touches. Also, he is a lover. He loves to give kisses and gives great hugs. When he's getting sleepy, he's prone to sacking out on our legs to cuddle up with us.

We love our boy. Although we are finding raising a boy is WAY different than raising a girl, and requires a whole new kind of patience, we are having a blast with this little man, especially as his little personality comes out more and more each day. This coming year is going to be so fun as we watch Mr. Connor come into his own. Watch out for this one, world. He's coming for you!!

We love you, Connor!!

Oh the Summer of .....2011.

Greetings, my buddies. I am here tonight to share with you pictures of my best summer yet. Granted, I've really only had two, but this one was way better than the last one, mainly because I spent the second half of this one WALKING. And when I say "walking," I mean running. From Mommy. Or Daddy. Or whomever. Yup, I had a GREAT summer. I had lots of fun with my best friend, The Sister. She's all right, I guess. I kinda like being around her. My other favorite things this summer were stairs, balls, shoes, cars/trucks, and chicken nuggets. I love stairs because I want to climb them all. the. time.; balls (mainly, this summer, beach balls were my favorite) because they're easy to throw; shoes, because I like wearing them; cars/trucks because I like pushing them around (duh??); and chicken nuggets because that is my meat of choice. And by meat of choice, I mean the only meat I want to eat. Ever. It only slightly annoys my mom. Anyway, so let's get to some pictures, shall we?! Ta-DA!! Here are some pictures of Summer 2011 starring ME!!

Molars. I have four. I did not enjoy dealing with them. Here I am passed out after one particularly rough afternoon.

Got my first haircut the first week of August. Here's my before shot! Notice the nice mullet in the back...

Haircut just beginning. Screaming to commence in 3...2...1.... (Mommy had to restrain me, as I screamed, thrashed, and cried the entire time.) :(

Post-Haircut. Ok, so I guess it wasn't THAT bad. ;)

Shoes. I love them. I especially love trying to put them on. Here I am wearing Mommy's flipflop. See it?? I walked around forever like this.

No, Mommy wasn't being entirely mean. I WANTED to put this coat on. See my happy face? It was so soft! (Mental note to delete this picture...when I'm old enough...)

I invented a ridiculous, happy, silly grin this summer. Isn't it handsome?? Word is, it makes me look like my Grandpa Steve.

Cheese!!

I climb anywhere on anything.

Learned this trick from my Sis. I did make it all the way up, Mom just didn't catch it.

Again, notice the shoe. Emily's crocs are my FAVORITE to wear. But never both. Always just one. That's how the cool kids wear them. (My sister does not realize this, therefore she clearly isn't cool.)

I'm currently in the process of giving up my morning nap. Some days I need it, other days I go without and end up like this. :)

Diaper with football jersey. Whereas wearing one shoe is clearly cool, not sure about this particular look. But it works for now.

Evidence of my crawling of the stairs fetish.

Had a great vacation in Branson with my family!!

I also enjoyed visiting the zoo!!

Here is a great video demonstrating my awesome strength. My mom thinks this is pretty amazing, though she's a little biased. ;)

A quick video of me. Enjoy. :)

Later. Talk to ya.

Birthday Pictures - Finally!

What up, my friends.
Finally getting to my birthday pics. It was a great day! In the morning, Mom took The Sister and I swimming. I did not enjoy the swimming as much as I did crawling on the hot pavement. I like being as uncomfortable as possible, you see. After naptime, we got ready for my party. Thank you to my parents, sister, grandparents and my Godmama Barb, her husband Dave, and daughter Kelsey for helping me celebrate! Swimming, cake, presents....birthdays are a good thing! Too bad I have to wait so long for another one! ;) Enjoy!

First Official Birthday Picture EVER! Breakfast in the morning. What is this thing on my head and why is such a big deal???

Decorations and presents!

Ready for a party!

I'm ONE! You know, like my shirt says. ;)

Cake time!

Happy Birthday dear Connor.....Happy Birthday to you!

Mmmmm.....cake....get in my belly....

Whoa....cake....good....can't....stop....

Me and my family. I was too busy eating to smile. ;)

Is that one for me, too???

The aftermath. It's everywhere.

A short video showing the end of my cake destroying session. It's epic, people. :)
